Camping

Rustic but beautiful campsites that you choose on arrival. Our camping is not usually very full. There are large trees and lawns to choose from. Ablutions are found in Oakleaf, as well as communal space, covered stoep, braai areas, indoor fire place.

No power points are available at the sites, but some plugs in Oakleaf.

Hikes of varying difficulty and river swimming are nearby and accessible. The landscape is gorgeous and dramatic and varied, including high grassland, caves and overhangs, forest pockets, large forested gorge, boulders and cliffs.

Pets are allowed if they are kept on a lead within the homestead (and camping) area. There are dogs present, belonging to the manager, as well as wildlife and farm animals, all of which have right of way. Out of the homestead area dogs are welcome to run free and hike with you as long as they are under your voice command and don’t harass farm animals.

Remember: Please bring your own firewood, and be aware that the weather up on the escarpment is sometimes unpredictable, and can often be a bit colder than elsewhere.
