Use of our premises and services constitutes acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
By visiting and / or using the Moorfield Farm it is deemed that you have read, understood and accepted the Terms, Conditions, Rules and procedures of this Private Nature Reserve.
Each person visiting and enjoying Moorfield Farm does so at their own risk. The owner, management and employees are not responsible for any damage, injury or loss of any nature sustained by a visitor, guest, contractor or any other person and / or their property on its entire extent of hills, kloofs, and streams. Moorfield Farm does not accept any responsibility for any items left behind at our facilities, nor for any alleged defect in any utensil, equipment, or services, nor from any liquid or food supplied by Moorfield and used or consumed by any visitor, or from any other cause whatsoever.
On arrival, Visitors to Moorfield must proceed to Reception and make themselves known to management or an employee of Moorfield, and sign in.
While at Moorfield all visitors agree to behave considerately towards fellow guests and management, and refrain from behaviour that disturbs others unnecessarily. Loud music, fireworks, and the use of motorized recreational vehicles is prohibited. Anyone visibly intoxicated or engaging in offensive, abusive, bullying or discriminatory behaviour will be asked to leave.
Use of the Children’s Play Area is under adult supervision only.
Swimming in the river is at your own risk, and adult supervision of children is compulsory.
Well trained pets are welcome under the following conditions:
- Moorfield is a working farm, and there are farm dogs around, as well as wildlife, which must be respected at all times.
- Pets are to be made known on arrival to management, and must be kept on leads when they are within the fenced in area of lawns and buildings at Moorfield Farm.
- There are as yet no pet friendly accommodation unit at Moorfield for overnight visits.
- Campers must keep their pets with them at their campsite, or on a lead when that is not possible.
- Outside the fenced in Moorfield area, pets are welcome to accompany you on hikes and swims, as long as they are under your control by voice command; they may not disturb farm animals or other visitors.
Disturbing, removing, damaging or collecting wildlife, farm animals or artefacts is not permitted.
No commercial photography or filming is allowed without our prior written consent.
You agree, for yourselves and your guests or visitors, not to use the Moorfield for any unlawful purpose or in breach of South African law for the commission of any criminal offence, or solicitation of any business while on the premises.
No Littering!
Day Visitors may make use of all public facilities and spaces, including Oakleaf Hall and the ablutions there during daylight hours. Day visitors may not enter the accommodation buildings and areas marked private except with explicit permission.
Campers may make use of all public facilities and spaces, including Oakleaf Hall and ablutions there, and must camp within the Moorfield Homestead fence unless permission has been given by management.
Overnight guests may check in to accommodation after 3:00 pm on the day of their arrival, and check out by 10:00 am on the day of departure, unless alternative arrangements have been made with management.
All accommodation at Moorfield is non-smoking.
Guests and visitors will be liable for damage to property or expenses incurred, damage to Moorfield’s reputation, or settlements awarded against Moorfield Farm arising out of or in connection with any breach of these Terms.
Requests for extra guests staying over and above the designated number of beds per accommodation unit will be considered on a case by case basis and if granted will be charged extra.
Overnight visitors wishing to have extra day visitors at their accommodation during daylight hours are welcome to do so, provided this is made known to management.
BOOKING PAYMENT TERMS – Bookings must be done by email, and require a 50% deposit plus signed Indemnity for confirmation, and the balance will be due latest 3 days before occupation.
- Cancellation requests must be received in writing.
- Cancellations received at least 30 days before occupation will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations received between 30 days and 3 days before occupation will incur a 50% cancellation fee
- Cancellation within 3 days of occupation will not be eligible for refunds.
- Moorfield accepts payment via EFT and direct deposit. Kindly forward us the proof of payment when paying via EFT or direct deposit.
- Any refunds granted will take approximately two weeks to process.
